As indicated above: I am writing thesis. And - obohl I had not I thought possible - has re-opened in time for the start of the University and State Library in Bonn.
Since the beginning of term, so the 13th October, you can write again with river view in the reading room. The beautiful brass lamps are gone, but the new chairs are really OK.
The university is of course very proud - four years of construction, 18.5 million euros. gibt'seine On the website of the ULB great headline It's done! , the General Anzeiger titled: works at University and State Library completed.

This Week Wednesday, then 17 days after the reopening sees the ULB this:
I will not even complain, I find the new reading room really beautiful, there are massenhaft Schliessfächer,alles ist heller, offener, einfach neuer. Aber fertig ist da fast nix. Auf den Toiletten gab es bis Mittwoch nur einen funktionierenden Wasserhahn, die anderen drei Waschbecken hatten entweder erst gar keinen Hahn oder einen, aus dem nichts kam. Auf den Klobrillen klebten Reinigungshinweise, der Rest des Damenklos war vollkommen mit Baudreck verschmiert (siehe Foto vom Boden). Die Feuerlöscher standen ca. eine Woche gesammelt in der Ecke des Lesesaals, einige Feuermelder sind immer noch nicht angeschlossen. Von Fassade, Haupteingang und Vorplatz reden wir lieber nicht.
Liebe Uni, bevor man große Töne spuckt muss man erst einmal etwas gescheites vorweisen können. Das ist auch der Grund, warum ich keinen make further comment on my MA will. At least I've learned in the shop so far ...

Luckily I bought a screwdriver and screwed no fear, the box. But a bit of heart palpitations, it has already caused.

And before anyone here complains: Jaaaa, I know, I do not write much right now. But master's thesis, part-time job (with pregnant colleague, so more full-time job!) Happiness and love keep me right now on the blog. But these phases do you know so, I come on at some point wieder ...;)
