Private Notuntersuchung
The Sargans Schloss story seemed so clear that you officially a history of building inspection is not necessary before restoration 1969 held. Thus the last opportunity was missed to bring light into the building history of the castle and the monument to create a reasonable basis for the restoration. Only a mortar samples were taken in order to gain knowledge of medieval mortar compositions. The
Exterior restoration has been led by Walter Fietz, at the time of Monuments. As experts of the Federal Commission for Conservation Unmanaged Prof. Albert Knoepfli and Dr. Bernhard else. W. Fietz insured against the client, not one wanted to "lock on herumpützeln," which he had meant well archaeological investigations.
case of a random visit to Sargans in the summer of 1969 I found that the layers of plaster that had been spared in 1900 and thoroughly, were cut off almost completely. The exposed brick and mortar structure were differences, redness and fire walled openings to light that had to be strictly documented, was aber niemand zu tun gedachte.
Since the restoration of 1969 were outside and inside the castle made changes. Thus, in the tower dungeon and in the front of the palace basement floors covered with ceramic plates, but unfortunately neither the pre-state yet documented the underground investigated archaeologically. In the great hall you will now have to refrain from seeking traces of the previous building collapsed in 1460.
