Fasting in the 21st Century: six weeks without Internet

78 percent of Germans would abandon fasting most likely to alcohol, a representative Forsa survey commissioned by the health insurance company DAK. Here the sweets (69 percent), smoking (53 percent), meat (48 percent) and television (42 percent).

meantime, we are also so far that at least 28 percent of Germans of a certain function of PC and Internet are aware and they indicated the absence of computers or the Internet as a priority "Fast goal." These are more women than men who want to opt out once. Young adults other hand seem not have any aversion to cherish their own consumer-screen behavior.
Overall, 60 percent of the approximately 1,000 respondents for several weeks to see waiver of certain beverages to be useful for their health. The DAK had waived survey also showed an increase of around five percent to 40 percent of people aware of many occasions for several weeks on beverage and consumer goods. In contrast, for 29 percent of respondents consciously avoiding for Lent generally not an issue.

DAK expert Silke Willms keep fasting for a time, like holiday acts. "If you deliberately omitted the next seven weeks on certain things, does his body and his soul some good." So understood, the end of the carnival is a good time to think about our lifestyles and time to act may also times consistently.

And remember: The Ash Wednesday for devout Catholics, the 40-day Lent begins in preparation for Easter, the feast of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
